WE COME FROM THE OCEAN
Our sustainability policy consists of guaranteeing that extraction (capture) does not endanger the health of fish stocks.
We promote responsible extraction
At Fisholg we understand that a productive or value chain depends on a constant balance from beginning to end. For this reason, being a company that works with fishery, artisanal and aquaculture products, we must ensure a sustainable and responsible management of the chain.
Our sustainability policy consists of guaranteeing that extraction (capture) does not endanger the health of fish stocks; promoting the protection of our marine and aquatic ecosystems; and protecting artisanal fishermen and fishing communities by encompassing responsible management of all the agents involved.
Fisholg has made alliances with Artisanal Fishermen’s Social Organizations (Organizaciones Sociales de Pescadores Artesanales – OSPAS), with NGOs and different agents representing the fishing industry (public and private) in order to articulate actions in benefit of guaranteeing the aforementioned.
Somos participantes activos de iniciativas de soluciones sostenibles
Our sector has two of the most important national fisheries: giant squid and mahi mahi. Both species have FIP’s (Fishery Improvement Project) initiatives, of which we are partners and active participants. For the squid there are groups such as South Pacific Giant Squid Committee (Comité de Calamar Gigante del Pacifico Sur – CALAMASUR) and Cámara Peruana del Calamar Gigante Peruvian Giant Squid Chamber – CAPECAL); and, on the other hand, the mahi mahi has the Peru Mahi Alliance (PMA), promoted by the WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature).
